Ben Oakley, Founder and Principal

Like many people, Ben 'fell' into recruitment, but still loves working in the industry almost 20 + years on!

After studying Engineering in the UK and then working in Engineering, I.T and Sales roles, Ben moved to Australia in 2005 and discovered his passion for recruitment working for a technical agency specialising in Mining and Engineering. 

After 9 years recruiting for technical and senior-level roles across Australia, he co-founded an executive search firm in 2013 and after 10 years subsequently estabished Gather recruitment in 2023.

Ben is an RCSA accredited recruitment professional (APR) and his background covers Executive Search, Permanent Recruitment and Contract Recruitment.

He is always happy to try and help or provide advice to clients or candidates or other interested parties and when he not recruiting Ben enjoys spending time at the beach, hanging out with his King Charles Cavalier Bobby (as well as his wife and kids!), hacking his way round a golf course, burning meat on his "big red egg" and an occasional craft beer.
